This listing is for a handmade, fully poseable Tanuki art doll. It measures about 33cm tall in sitting position and 59cm from the nose to the tip of the tail (measurements may vary depending on the pose)

The head, legs, hat and bottle are 3D printed in resin and hand painted with resin.

The body is hand-sewn using vegan friendly faux fur fabrics and filled with polfill. This sculpture is also has an inner armature made with plastic ball and socket pieces, allowing it to adopt different poses.

One of the most distinctive features of Tanuki in Japanese folklore is their magical and malleable scrotums, which can change size and shape, granting them all sort of shape-shinting abilities. For this reason, I decided to make Tanuki with swappable scrotums in two different sizes (both included in this listing), they come attatched to the body with snaps and can be easily swapped.

The hat and bottle can also be put on and off, so you can enjoy your tanuki as a mythological bake-danuki or make him disguise as a regular tanuki racoon dog.

Due to the hand making process, the final product may differ a bit in colors or other things from the one in the pictures. Each creation is unique.

Note this is not a toy but a collector’s piece of art that must be handled with care as it is delicate. A bad use of it can damage the whole piece and repairing it can be difficult.
